Founded in 1864, Travelers Insurance was the first company in America to insure against accidents. Now it is one of the largest insurance companies in the United States. Since 2004, Travelers Insurance has been a part of the St. Paul Travelers group, creating a new conglomerate group with nearly three centuries of combined experience and a combined assets pool of $113.2 billion. Travelers Insurance is the second largest writer of auto and homeowners insurances within the group.

Travelers has many 'firsts' to its credit.
