Technical Operations Specialist
Major Responsibilities
- Provide help desk support to all business users, ensuring timely, effective response within established Service Level Agreements
- Conduct systems monitoring of enterprise–wide infrastructure for uptime and availability
- Troubleshoot and fix most types of end–user computing and application problems
- Assist in relocating workstations
- Perform routine printer and copier maintenance
- Configure and maintain computer and telephone hardware and software
- Assist with routine system backup and tape management
- Manage software license compliance and computer system inventory
Technical Experience
- Strong expertise in PC and workstation computing technologies, including thin clients
- Strong expertise in Microsoft technologies, including Office, Windows 2003 Sever, SQL Server 2005, Exchange, and Terminal Services
- Scripting/programming skills in T-SQL, PowerShell, VBScript or .NET 1.1 and above
- Knowledge of network communication methods and protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, WINS, FTP, and SNMP
- Working knowledge of Active Directory and Exchange in Windows 2003
- Working knowledge of web server technologies such as IIS
Additional Requirements
- This position requires 40+ hours per week
- Must be able to respond to system issues 7x24x365
- Able to work weekends and nights when needed
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
